Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flat Out Lousy We've eaten Dinty Moore Beef Stew for years, but hadn't had any since last Fall. This weekend we picked up a couple of cans to have for quick meals and had some tonight. It was terrible tasting stuff and we didn't finish it. I just accessed this website and found these poor reviews, and I have to say that we agree that Dinty Moore isn't good anymore. It's flat out lousy. Why change a recipe that stood the test of time? Dinty Moore used to be so delicious, but this mess wasn't even close to what we remembered. I doubt we'll even open the second can and will probably throw it away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My whole family is disgusted!!! When I was a child I use to eat dinty moore beef stew all the time. It was my favorite thing to eat. My whole family use too eat it all the time. Every since you guys changed it, it doesn't taste good at all. Me and my whole family are disappointed and I'm just gonna say that if you changed it back to the way it use too be then your sales would probably go back up. I probably have had 20 some people in my family say they won't even touch it anymore and we all use to eat it all the time. Please change it back

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yuck!! I have used Dinty Moore Beef Stew as a staple for years and years. A few years ago they changed the recipe and at first I didn't like it, but I grew accustomed to the change and continued eating it several nights per week (single person). Now they have changed it again and I won't even eat the remaining cans I have. It's terrible. It has the strangest flavor. I don't know what I will do now - but it will be something different because this new recipe is the worst ever. Good luck Hormel - don't know why you want to mess with a good thing. SMH

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Whats with the meat? While I am not as hard as some of those who rated this a 1, I must admit that the quality has slipped. The meat is a crumbly texture that is obviously a 'Textured Soy Product' and not meat. The gravy is very salty, and the best part is probably the potatoes. A tad disappointed from what I used to recall as a child, but will still buy this as it is filling, long shelf life, and fairly inexpensive. Like others, I would pay more for a better meat texture, and less sodium.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why... did you take a great tasting product and turn it into something I won't eat? I grew up car camping and there was nothing better than having Dinty Moore for supper on a piece of bread. I recently bought a couple of cans to take to my cabin and very disappointed when I opened the first one. It is now meatball stew and tastes nothing like I remember. Please change it back and raise the price if you have too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why the change in recipe? Mushrooms? Ick I don't know why they changed it. It was perfect as it was. Why do companies ruin what was once wonderful? Do they not realize they will lose their life long supporters by the attempt to gain a few new people? Pringles did this to their basic chip in 2010 or 2011 (I think to make it crispier) and it ruined the flavor. I can't even eat them now they're nothing like they were. Whatever they changed just ruined it, like Dinty did here.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If it's not broken, don't fix it! I know you all made the change awhile ago, but I'm still disgusted by the newer recipe. I've been buying the plastic trays (please don't change this recipe), because they taste like the old familiar Dinty Moore I know and love. The ingredients are different - no mushroom powder. Please re-evaluate your decision to change the recipe, listen to your customers (many of whom have been eating this since childhood!) and bring back the old classic!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where's the beef???? I've been eating Dinty Moore Beef Stew as long as I can remember and I can say I just had my last can. If you believe that small ground up pieces of something that's supposed to be meat can replace a chunk of beef you are sadly mistaken. Please change the picture on the can, there are no large chunks of beef in the stew.
