Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glaze

INGREDIENTS


  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons coarse-grain mustard
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

DIRECTIONS


1. In small saucepan, over medium heat, combine brown sugar and next 6 ingredients.
2. In small bowl, whisk together water and cornstarch. Whisk cornstarch mixture into brown sugar mixture and bring to a boil, whisking constantly.
3. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 2 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve with ham.
