Easy Beer Bread

INGREDIENTS


  • 3 cups bread or all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces beer
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons diced green chilies
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

DIRECTIONS


1. Heat oven to 375°F. Grease 9x5-inch loaf pan.
2. In mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in beer and mix until just incorporated. Add cheese, chilies, and parsley. Stir to combine.
3. Spread batter evenly in prepared loaf pan. Pour melted butter over the top of dough.
4. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and the top is browned.
5. Let cool in pan 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lives up to the title :-) Truly a quick and easy receipt to make. I follow Willtryanything1x's suggestions on the amount of cheese and butter to use for making this receipt. I used a 1/4 cup of cheese (was not enough) and will use 1/2 cup cheese and 1 Tbsp of butter as 2 Tbsp of butter was bit too buttery, but good :- ). I used Dark Beer which gave it a nice flavor, I will be adding an 1/8 teaspoon of Baking Soda to help Brown it up. FYI.... I used a ceramic 9x5-inch loaf pan (not a good choice) and baked for 55 minutes, center was just a bit gooey. I will use an aluminum loaf pan next time. All in all a good receipt to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy beer bread Easy to make and tasty. Next time I would only use 1/4-1/2 cup cheese and 2 Tbsp of butter though. Especially if you're going to spread butter on it when serving it! I made it to go with shrimp bisque but it could go with anything or by itself! It only took a few minutes to prepare but longer to bake.
