AUSTIN, Minn.—Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL) today announced the advancement of Donald H. Kremin to vice president of sales, Wal-Mart for Hormel Foods and Brian D. Johnson to the position of corporate secretary, effective Nov. 1, 2007.

“Don’s promotion signifies his excellent customer service capabilities and his leadership in the consumer products sales division,” said Larry L. Vorpahl, group vice president of Hormel Foods and president of consumer products sales (CPS).

“We also intend to utilize Don’s new role to provide assistance at Wal-Mart to our non-CPS business units, including Hormel Foods International,” added Jeffrey M. Ettinger, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer.

Kremin started with Hormel Foods in 1984 as a sales merchandiser in grocery products in Lenexa, Kan. He held various sales positions in the Midwest and, in 1990, he was named grocery products district manager in Milwaukee, Wis. In 1994, he was promoted to grocery products regional manager for the East Central region headquartered in Detroit, Mich. In 1996, he was promoted to grocery products customer development manager for the Central region headquartered in Chicago, Ill. In 2004, he became the director of customer development in CPS in Chicago, and in 2005, Kremin was named director of the Wal-Mart business team in Bentonville, Ark.

“Brian’s experience and background make him eminently qualified to assume the ever-more challenging responsibility of corporate secretary,” said James W. Cavanaugh, general counsel and senior vice president, Hormel Foods. The position of corporate secretary was previously held by Cavanaugh.

Johnson started with Hormel Foods in 1995 as a corporate attorney. He was promoted to senior attorney in 2000. In 2005, he was promoted to assistant secretary. Prior to joining Hormel Foods, Johnson practiced law with Doherty, Rumble & Butler, P.A. He earned designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 1984, and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1991.
