Carnita-Style Pork Tostadas

Carnita-Style Pork Tostadas

INGREDIENTS


  • 1 (24-ounce) package HORMEL® Roast flavored pork roast
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ ground cumin
  • 1 ½ cups shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded green cabbage
  • Fresh cilantro sprigs
  • 12 corn tostadas
  • ¾ cup crema
  • Picked red onions or thinly sliced red onion
  • Diced tomato
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

DIRECTIONS


Season pork with black pepper, dried oregano and ground cumin.  Place roast in slow cooker and prepare as package directs.  When tender, drain excess juices from slow cooker and shred pork with two forks.  Meanwhile, in bowl, combine lettuce, cabbage and fresh cilantro sprigs.  Spread crema onto each tostada.  Top with shredded pork and lettuce mixture.  Top as desired with pickled red onions and diced tomato.  Serve with lime wedges.  Serves  6.
