Steamed Bacon Buns with Hoisin

INGREDIENTS


  • ½ (16-ounce) package thick-cut HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Premium Brown Sugar Bacon, cut into 2-inch pieces 
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • ¼ cup unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 8 steamed buns, cooked according to package directions
  • Hoisin sauce, Sriracha, sliced scallions, sliced radishes and bread-and-butter pickles

DIRECTIONS


1. In large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat 5 minutes or until lightly browned; add ginger. Pour off excess fat. Add broth and next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes or until bacon is tender and the liquid is thickened. Cover and keep warm.
2. Assemble steamed buns with Sriracha, hoisin sauce and top with bacon. Drizzle each bun with glaze and garnish with sliced scallions, radishes and pickles.
