Maple-Black Pepper-Bacon Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS


  • 6 slices HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Premium Maple Black Pepper Bacon, cut into ½-inch pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chili sauce
  • ¾ cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons lite soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 pounds chicken wings pieces
  • 1½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

DIRECTIONS


1. Heat saucepan over medium heat and cook bacon until nearly crisp. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
2. Whisk in chili sauce and next 5 ingredients. Reduce heat to low and simmer 2 minutes or until slightly thickened.
3. Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
4. In Dutch oven or deep fryer, heat oil to 350°F. Fry chicken wings in small batches until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Place on paper towels to drain.
5. In large bowl, toss wing pieces with bacon mixture.
