Try this Chinese-inspired version! Made with hot chili with beans, fragrant grated ginger, aromatic five-spice powder, sweet hoisin sauce, spicy chili garlic paste, and salty soy sauce, this Chinese Chili is bursting with flavor and perfect for serving over hot rice.
Ingredients
1 | tablespoon oil |
1 | small onion, sliced |
1 | clove garlic, minced |
1 | tablespoon grated fresh ginger |
1 | teaspoon five-spice powder |
2 | (15-ounce) cans STAGG® DYNAMITE HOT® Chili with Beans |
2 | tablespoons hoisin sauce |
2 | teaspoons chili garlic paste |
1 | teaspoon soy sauce |
4 | cups hot cooked rice |
Toppings: Chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeño pepper, and cubed avocado |
Directions
In large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add onion. Cook 3 to 5 minutes or until crisp-tender. Add garlic and ginger. Cook 30 seconds or until fragrant. Stir in five-spice powder. Add chili, hoisin sauce, chili-garlic paste and soy sauce. Simmer 5 minutes. Serve with rice and desired toppings.
