Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the ingredients for my excellent chili! I make a chili from one each of the hot hormel with beans, this vegetarian, a can of beans and a can of good quality stewed tomatoes and my added spices and it is a great hit. The Vegetarian is smooth and non-fatty, the hot with beans is meaty with oil and has nice flavor as well as heat, and the stewed tomatoes adds acid which I think is lacking in both these chilis. I add chili powder and onion powder, and cook while stirring for quite a while and get a lovely rich but not fatty sauce. Can't make anything half so good without this smooth Vegetarian chili!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great veggie meal starter! I never thought, as a vegetarian, that is be endorsing a Hormel product, but this chili is delicious. It's so convenient and when served with a salad and/or additional veggies, it's a great meal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Vegan chili ever!!!! Yes, it is labeled as vegetarian. But, if you read the ingredients, it is Vegan as well. There is no meat in here even though you would swear that there is. I bought this for my Cincinnati Chili recipe that I make with an Alfredo sauce. Since I have turned Vegan, I can still make this with some slight variations and it is one of my favorite dishes. Here are my ingredients and you can substitute Vegan for non. Any spaghetti/ angel hair pasta, cook as instructed. Cover with heated Alfredo sauce and spoon on Hormel's Vegetarian chili and then swirl Sriracha sauce as desired and sprinkle with Parmesan or Vegan Parmesan cheese. One of the best features of this dish, is that you can substitute the Alfredo sauce for a marinara sauce and it is almost as perfect. if you want, you can also add in some cooked or fresh veggies as well. Enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly tasty I'm not a vegetarian but bought this to cut down on fat in diet. Was able to cut fat and calories without sacrificing flavor! Would be great if was lower in sodium but I guess if you want something to be completely healthy, you probably shouldn't eat chili. Haha.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this dang chili! Mr. Hormel and I have always been close, and this chili is even better and SPICIER than the meaty variant. BUT it is just a tad bit soupier. Is that a good thing? Is that a bad thing? Who knows? But is DELISH! I am a vegetarian, and I am a big fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very, very best ever We try not to use red meat, and use ground turkey, adding diced bell pepper, diced onion, a can of diced tomatoes, allow to simmer for about an hour to blend the add in's and wow what a wonderful meal served with corn bread.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Vegetarians Beware! This product is not truly vegetarian! I found bits and pieces of meat in this "vegetarian" chili, so I will not be buying again. If you're a meat eater just looking for a healthier option this is great, but if you're truly vegetarian this isn't for you.
