Pancakes with Bacon Bits

 

INGREDIENTS


  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cream or milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (3-ounce) jar HORMEL® Real Bacon Bits

DIRECTIONS


In bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In separate bowl, mix together buttermilk, egg, oil and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Heat skillet on medium heat. Pour ¾ cup of batter onto hot skillet. Immediately sprinkle bacon bits over pancake. Cook 2 minutes or until golden brown. Turn; cook 1 minute or until golden.
CAMPING TIP
Make batter ahead of time and store in a pourable container or sealed storage bag. Hold off adding HORMEL® Real Crumbled Bacon until cooking pancakes at your campsite.
