Ingredients
10 | empanada dough discs |
¼ | cup pizza sauce, plus more for dipping |
1¼ | cups shredded mozzarella cheese |
40 | slices HORMEL® Pepperoni slices |
Directions
On one empanada round, spread about 1 teaspoon pizza sauce down center. Top with 2 tablespoons cheese and 4 slices pepperoni. Fold over dough in half and press edges to seal. Crimp edges with fork. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
In large skillet over medium heat, heat ½- inch oil. Add 3 to 4 empanadas to pan, but do not over-crowd. Cook 2 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and cook 2 minutes longer. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining empanadas.
Serve with extra pizza sauce, for dipping.
