2 cups all-purpose our
¼ cup light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
large eggs, room temperature
½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 cups buttermilk, room temperature
6 slices HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Pecanwood Bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
5 green onions, thinly sliced


  1. Preheat waffle iron.

  2. In large bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt and black pepper. Make a well in the center of the bowl and set aside.

  3. Crack eggs into small bowl and whisk. Pour into center of dry ingredients. Add melted butter and buttermilk. Stir waffle batter until just combined.

  4. Fold in crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese and sliced green onions.

  5. Lightly grease waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour in ½ cup batter.

  6. Cook until waffles are golden brown.
