5 | spicy Italian sausage links, skin removed, chopped |
1 | onion, chopped |
1 | bell pepper, chopped |
3 | banana peppers, chopped |
5 | cloves garlic, chopped |
1 | (6-ounce) tomato paste |
2 | (15-ounce) cans HORMEL® Chili, No Beans |
3 | tablespoons water |
2 | teaspoons salt |
2 | teaspoons black pepper |
1 | tablespoon red chili flakes |
8 | burger buns, toasted |
4 | cups shredded mozzarella |
Directions
In large saucepan over medium heat, heat oil. Add sausage and cook 5 to 7 minutes or until browned. Add onion and peppers; cook 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and tomato paste, chili, water, salt, pepper and chili flakes. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve on buns topped with cheese.
