INGREDIENTS


  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 6 cups thinly sliced yellow onions
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 6 cups water
  • 6 HERB-OX® Beef Bouillon Cubes
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slices French bread (¾” thick), buttered and toasted
  • 3 cups shredded Swiss cheese

DIRECTIONS


1. In large Dutch oven, over medium-high heat, cook onions in hot oil 25 minutes or until browned. Stir in garlic and cook 2 minutes. Add water, bouillon cubes and Worcestershire sauce. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes.
2. Divide hot soup into six ovenproof bowls, place bowls on a baking sheet. Top each with toasted bread slice. Sprinkle with cheese.
3. Place oven rack 5 inches from heat source. Heat oven to broil. Heat soup under broiler 5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
