Ham Steak with Apples

 

INGREDIENTS


  • 2 HORMEL® CURE 81® Classic Ham Steaks
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 shallots, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and cubed
  • ¾ cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 6 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS


1. In skillet, heat the CURE 81® Classic Ham Steak; remove.
2. Scrape up remaining bits of ham with vegetable or chicken stock. Add olive oil and butter. When butter is melted, stir in shallots and garlic to soften.
3. Place apples and thyme in skillet; simmer 15-20 minutes.
4. Remove from heat. Remove thyme. Swirl Dijon mustard.
5. Spoon cooked apples and sauce over slices of the CURE 81® Brown Sugar Ham Steak.
 
 
 
 
  Close
