Jalapeno Bacon-Wrapped Tots with Cheese Sauce

Cheese Sauce
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups whole milk
1 cup grated Monterey jack cheese
Jalapeno Bacon-Wrapped Tots
Vegetable oil
1 pound HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Premium Jalapeño Bacon, cut each slice into 3 ½-inch lengths
24 frozen tater tots, thawed


For the Cheese Sauce

  1. In medium saucepan on medium heat, melt butter.

  2. Add flour, salt, and pepper, whisking over medium heat 1 minute.

  3. Add milk gradually while whisking. Heat to boiling.

  4. Add cheese until melted.

  5. Serve warm.

For the Jalapeno Bacon-Wrapped Tots

  1. In large saucepan over medium heat, heat oil to 375°F.

  2. Roll slice of bacon around each tater tot. Secure with wooden pick.

  3. Cook each tater tot in oil 2 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.

  4. Serve with warm cheese sauce for dipping.
