Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef
Vegetable oil
12 slider buns, split and toasted
Kosher salt and pepper, to taste
6 slices American or cheddar cheese, each slice cut into quarters
1 (15-ounce) can HORMEL® Chili No Beans, heated

Directions

  1. Roll beef into 12 small meatballs; set aside.

  2. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot, at least 2 minutes. Brush skillet with oil. Add 4 meatballs, evenly spaced in skillet. Using back of metal spatula, press firmly to smash meatballs into thin patties. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 1 minute.

  3. Flip patties. Cook 1 minute. Arrange two pieces of quartered cheese over each patty. Cover skillet until the cheese is melted and burgers are cooked through, 1 minute more. Remove patties to a plate to keep warm. Repeat twice with remaining meatballs and cheese.

  4. Top bottom buns with 1 smashed burger patty. Spoon about 1 tablespoon chili over each patty and sandwich with top bun.
